On to Ancient Rome!

We have left the Greek peninsula and have headed to the Roman peninsula.  This will be a short unit.  Students are not doing research this time around, but are doing an ABC poster with related Roman words. They will also be taking a quiz, instead of a unit test.

Here is a link to play a question-answer game entitled Where in the Roman World?

Hour 6 students are working on their Ancient Rome ABC posters and looking for Roman related words.

So Many Books, So Little Time!

One week of vacation seems a long time prior to when the vacation begins, but it sure does go quickly!  I can't believe that on Monday we are back to school for the final stretch.

I have been doing a little bit of grading, but I have been doing A LOT of reading, which I don't get to do as much as I'd like during the school year.  There are many books on my nightstand begging to be picked up and read first!  Take a look at these yummy titles:

1.  Fearless, by Cornelia Funke....sequel to Reckless
2.  The Kiss by James Patterson...This is the next book in the Witch & Wizard series.
3.  Dust Lands by Moira Young...the next book in the Rebel Heart trilogy
4.  Entice and Emblaze by Jessica Shirvington...I loved the first book Embrace so much, that I ordered the next two books!  I see that there is one more in the series which I will have to get....
5.  The Bar Code Tattoo by Suzanne Weyn....I actually read the sequel first, The Bar Code Rebellion and decided I needed to read the first one.  There is a third in the series entitled The Bar Code Prophecy.
6.  The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen...recommended by Mrs. Vanden Heuvel.
7.  Unearthly by Cynthia Hand...another book of the part angel (Grigori) theme that is prevalent in YA books...that and the dystopian society theme.  This is the first in a trilogy.

AND....this doesn't count the free ebooks I have downloaded on my iPad.  Ooohhhh  So Many Books, So Little Time!

See you all on Monday!!!!!
